Fantastic, a nursery that speaks for itself! Harriet has thrived! Harriet is welcomed every morning by friendly and caring staff. She is encouraged to explore her environment and to her delight has discovered painting!.

Child WorkingMy daughter has been at St Mary’s since we moved here last year. The staff are warm and welcoming at all times. This is the first nursery we have experienced where a child has been given the freedom to ‘express herself freely’ without having to participate in activities sat at a table if she doesn’t wish to!

Within a safe environment she has been allowed to explore, discover and enjoy whilst also learning basic literacy and maths through play! Well done to all the wonderful staff for making St Mary’s Nursery a fun and happy place for children!

Having only moved recently to Hexham we were naturally worried about Harry settling in to a new nursery. However from day one it was like he’d always been there. Mr and Mrs Courtney Parents of Harry

Both Olivia and Thomas have attended St Mary’s day care and pre-school provision. Both settings have provided a warm, stimulating and nurturing environment where we have seen our children flourish. They have developed not only in an educational respect but also as happy, caring, confident children. We would have no hesitation in recommending St Mary’s Nursery to any parent who wishes to give their child a happy start to their early education.

We currently have three children using the variety of childcare provided by St Mary’s. Our two eldest children use both breakfast club and Smary’s after school clubs. To be able to drop all three children off on a morning in the same place, knowing they are well cared for and enjoy the time they spend there before going into school, is a real benefit. The flexibility of the after school provision is also one of the main attractions, if work commitment changes Smarty’s staff are always willing to try and accommodate us.

Our youngest child attends nursery full time, he is so happy to go in, he often doesn’t give a second glance back as he walks through the door. His key worker is warm and friendly and he holds her in high regard, always wanting to know where she is on an evening so he can go and say goodbye – even if that means a trip upstairs! The range of activities that Ciaran is able to take part in is amazing, from painting and plays doh to playing with foam and the fun doesn’t stop just because it’s late in the day. If he comes home messy, we know he has had a good day! The children also enjoy playing outside and making use of the many outdoor toy and play areas they have, even when it’s raining – it doesn’t stop them.

All the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and as a parent you leave for work knowing that they all have your child’s best interests at heart and will be well looked after and have a fun filled educational time while your not there.

The staff are very friendly and chatty when talking to them on the phone. The service they provide is very flexible to meet the changing needs of the children and their families. My daughter Emma enjoys out of ours and breakfast club, meeting up with her friends from school and being involved with other children in adventures and creative things they do in the clubs.
